This past week was Thanksgiving week. My oldest son, Josh, got married to Kristin and her two children, Walker and Laia, on Monday of the week, so we added a daughter in law, two bonus grandchildren, and a host of bonus relatives that we instantly loved. As such, rather than adding blog fodder for the week, we gathered stories for a possible additional book of weekly motivational moments.

The new couple got married in Coba, Quintana Roo, Mexico, just north of Tulum. We explored cenotes (underground cave swimming holes (literally)) and some Mayan ruins that were even older than me. Some of the stories that began to develop were the father of the bride slipping in a cenote on a very wet surface, falling hard and hitting the back of his head, then having to climb a 40-foot vertical staircase back to ground level. Fortunately, we never go anywhere without our Nurse Renee’, who treated the wound and performed all of the injury protocols. He was mostly fine and managed the wedding ceremony okay. Ironically, the last serious injury Renee’ treated in Mexico was at the wedding of Doug and Rudy when Rudy fell and broke his collar bone. So, if you have a wedding in Mexico, better take Renee’.

After the wedding, some of the group left of Cancun to spend the holidays and our newest grandson, Ashton Branch, had his first carrousel ride atop a giant zebra. He was all smiles. We spent one day in Isla Mujeres, golf carting from bar to bar.

Week Minded will get started in earnest on editing and may have a few ideas on the book cover this week, the next meeting with the sherpas is on Tuesday. Have a great week!
