Tomorrow night at midnight, Week Minded will be fully released into the wild. I think many of those in my orbit will just be happy for me to talk about it a bit less after tomorrow. I have been consumed by it. Nights, weekends, lunch hours, etc. I was obsessed with turning all edits around within 24 hours. The most satisfying feeling for me has been the place this book occupies in the world of leading and living. One consulting group said that it fills a gap for them between self-discovery and leadership development. Pattye Moore, former CEO of Sonic, said we just don’t lean in to the personal side of people leadership as we should. This book does that. Today, Kris Erickson, author and co-founder of Workforce Science Associates, validated the book’s place in the workforce science at a breakfast I attended. Dr. Taryn Marie Stejskal, in the foreword to the book, showed how the book grounds itself in vulnerability and honesty, and that the reader can take comfort in knowing that none of us has it all figured out every minute of every day. The Forbes.com article will drop on May 3rd, the day after the official release, and explains the role of emotional intelligence and of meeting people where they are as crucial parts of gaining the trust needed to lead people effectively. So it’s a good day.
